Not all angels have wings. Some angels live among us in human form who never tire of doing good deeds, serving humanity and doing good deeds. Tauseef Baig is also that angelic character of our region, our district, our city of Jhelum, who is actively working every day to change this rotten society with good deeds.
By the way, Jhelum is famous for many reasons. Some know it for its soldiers, generals and army officers, while others know it for its artists, writers and actors. But the real and beautiful identity of our city and our district is Tauseef Baig Sahib, who is changing the identity of our region and the lives of the people.
In the past few years, Allah Almighty has used Tauseef Baig to do many good and beneficial things. On March 20, 2017, after losing his only young son Hamza Baig in a car accident in Jhelum, Tauseef Baig, instead of making his grief and sorrow his weakness, engaged himself in the service, improvement, convenience and welfare of God’s creation to such an extent that he changed the lives of thousands and millions.
In memory of his late son Hamza Baig, he established the Hamza Baig Welfare Society in 2018. Under which, he initiated numerous public welfare projects, the most prominent of which are important initiatives regarding road safety.
– More than 2000 free helmets have been distributed among the people.
– In collaboration with Traffic Police, 1122 and NHA, numerous road safety seminars have been organized.
– On more than 1000 occasions, the ambulance of Hamza Baig Welfare Society has provided services in transporting dead bodies and in emergency situations.
– Two lakh trees have been planted under the management of Hamza Baig Welfare Society so far.
– 80 families have been provided free employment.
– More than four lakh people have eaten from the table under Hamza Baig Welfare Society since 2022.
– 6 deserving families have been given houses.
– More than 1.5 lakh people are drinking clean water daily from RO plants and filter plants.
– 40 families are being provided with monthly financial assistance.
– More than 100 marriages have been conducted under Hamza Foundation.
– Ration and iftar are provided to hundreds of families during Ramadan.
– Uniforms, sweaters and shoes have been provided to 4000 deserving people.
– Free treatment, medicines, artificial limbs and wheelchairs have been provided to many people.
– Under the Hamza Baig Welfare Society, an integrated system of emergency response to natural disasters has been established in Jhelum, under which rescue and relief work is carried out with full preparedness in floods and other natural disasters.
Apart from all these welfare works, Tauseef Baig Sahib is always active in carrying out countless good deeds. If the road is closed for traffic during any political or religious protest, the committed team of Hamza Baig Welfare Society provides food and tea to the people stuck in traffic. Every relief is provided.
The information that reached me from various sources regarding the services of Hamza Baig Welfare Society and Tauseef Baig, if a road breaks down somewhere, Tauseef Baig, with his personal interest and efforts, ensured that the road was repaired within 24 hours.
A friend from Jhelum told me that a loved one of his met with a road accident in front of City Housing and was shifted to Rawalpindi. Tauseef Baig paid the Rs. 1.4 million for the treatment because he follows the principle that saving the life of one person is equivalent to saving the life of the entire humanity.
The amount of work that Tauseef Baig has done regarding road safety is unparalleled in our region, let alone in the whole of Pakistan.
In Covid-19, in the 2022 South Punjab floods, in the 2025 Jhelum floods, in every difficult moment, he worked tirelessly day and night and got people out of trouble.
