A meeting of District Disaster Management Authority and District Emergency Board was held in the committee room of the Deputy Commissioner Office under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Syeda Ramla Ali Sahiba.
The heads of all relevant departments participated in the meeting.
Flash and rapid flooding ‘Urban flooding’ Small dams on private land and the situation of Jhelum river and Mangala dam were taken into consideration.
Deputy Commissioner Jhelum issued important related orders. All concerned departments are also ordered to be diligent. The immediate response of all departments including Rescue 1122 for the protection of precious lives and property on the recent regional flood situation was described as satisfactory.
Hamza Baig Welfare Society also made some submissions to make the safety measures more effective for the protection of precious life and property.

District Emergency Officer Engineer Saeed Ahmed said that the water level in Mangala Dam on the same day last year was 1242 feet while today it is 1224 feet. There is no immediate danger of flooding in the Jhelum River.
